The City of Hilliard, Ohio is located Northwest of Columbus with the zip code of 43026. Originally called Hilliard’s Station the City is located between Big Darby Creek and the Scioto River. The town grew around a railroad route and served as an ideal shipping station for agricultural production and supplies from the local farmers in the area. The original Hilliard area was platted in September of 1853. Finally incorporated in 1869, this small town only consisted of 280 residents. Today the City of Hilliard is one of the largest communities in Ohio with a population of over 28,000 people. The original railroad station has since been restored and has become a part of Hilliard’s historical Weaver Park along with many other buildings. Rich with history and the inclusion of numerous parks including the 132.7 acre Municipal Park and the Heritage Rail Trail that has more than 7 miles worth of paths, Hilliard has become a very family friendly community.
